Dozer Training - MultiSkills Training

A dozer is commonly used on building and civil construction sites and operators require a certificate of competency to use it. In this dozer training course you will learn the skills needed to conduct dozer operations in the civil construction industry. This includes planning and preparing; operating a dozer; selecting, removing and fitting attachments; relocating a dozer carrying out machine operator maintenance; and cleaning up.

Becoming a skilled dozer driver takes time and expertise, but before all that you need the skills. Proper dozer training and practise are the first steps you can take in achieving your goals. Throughout this 3-day dozer training course, you’ll take part in a mix of practical and theoretical training sessions including written activities, verbal questions, observation and hands-on exercises.

Once you have finished your dozer training you’ll be able to work across various job sites to perform dozer duties both safely and efficiently.

This course will teach you the skills to

  • Plan and prepare for dozer operations
  • Operate dozer
  • Select, remove and fit attachments
  • Relocate the dozer
  • Carry out machine operator maintenance
  • Conduct housekeeping activities

All successful participants of MultiSkills’ 3-day dozer training course in the conduct of civil construction dozer operations will receive a nationally accredited statement of attainment.

Recognised Prior Learning (RPL)

MultiSkills Training has reviewed the structure and delivery of this unit and determined that Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is not offered for this course.

Due to the short duration of the program, the time and effort required for a student to gather sufficient evidence and complete a formal RPL application is likely to exceed the time it would take to complete the training and assessment. In addition, the RTO resources required to assess and validate RPL applications for this course make the process not viable or efficient in this context.

This decision aligns with the guidance outlined in the Outcome Standards Policy Guidance (Standards for RTOs 2025), which recognises that RPL may not be appropriate or practical in all circumstances.

MultiSkills Training is committed to transparency and fairness. Information regarding RPL is also available in our Credit Transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning Policy, which is available on our resources page. In addition, our administrative team is available to discuss this with you upon request.
