The Construction Induction Card (White Card) is a mandatory requirement for all workers on building and civil construction sites. In this White Card course, you will learn the basic principles of occupational health and safety requirements. Your White Card is issued by WorkSafe Victoria.
Without the construction induction card known as a White Card, you cannot seek employment in the construction industry in Victoria. It is a mandatory certification that allows you to work on construction sites throughout the state and indicates that you have completed the minimum training needed to safely work in the construction industry. You also need a White Card to work on your own home renovations
This construction induction training will teach you the skills to
- Verbally report construction hazards and risks
- Relay information to others
- Discuss OHS issues to others
- Understand safety signs and symbols
- Identify common construction hazards
- Understand the basic principles of risk management
- Understand emergency procedures
Upon the completion of this White Card course in Melbourne, participants will be issued a White Card by WorkSafe and will be eligible to work on construction sites anywhere in Victoria.

Under the current legislation, white cards do not expire but it is recommended that you refresh your knowledge by completing a new course if you have been absent from the construction industry for more than 2 years.
