ACE Training is a leading registered training organisation (RTO), providing Civil Construction courses, WorkSafe High-Risk Work and VicRoads Heavy Vehicle driving licences to employees and job seekers in Victoria. In addition, ACE delivers a broad range of employer-specific, Verification of Competency (VOC) and bespoke training to our industry-based clients. With some of the highest completion rates in the industry and a brand known for high-quality training, ACE operates across four campuses – Ballarat & Bendigo (Western), Sale & Traralgon (Eastern).

We have a great culture and are looking for experienced and professional Construction, High Risk Work and Heavy Vehicle Trainers and Assessors to join our team.

Areas of particular interest are:

Heavy Vehicle Driver Licences (VicRoads)

  • Medium Rigid — Auto
  • Heavy Rigid — auto, non-synchro
  • Heavy Combination — auto, non-synchro
  • Four Wheel Drive / Off Road

Elevated Work Platform Licences

  • Boom Lift ≥ 11 metres
  • Boom and Scissorlift < 11 metres

High Risk Work Licences

  • Forklift

The Role

The position can be full-time or flexible hours and days that suit you. We have a range of days available for teaching between 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday. Weekend work may also be available.

About yourself

We are looking for professional educators with fantastic people skills. You may be a great fit if you have the following:

  • Ability to multi-task in a busy RTO environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously when required
  • Ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines with excellent problem solving and organisational skills.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrate solid experience as a Trainer/ Assessor and hold current industry skills

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging training programs that meet industry standards and regulatory requirementslevant training & assessment services (combined theory and practical activities)
  • Providing hands-on practical training and assessment for students on the operation of trucks, elevated work platforms (EWPs), and forklifts
  • Ensuring students develop the necessary skills and knowledge to safely and effectively operate these types of equipment
  • Maintaining accurate student records, providing feedback, and issuing appropriate qualifications
  • Supervise students’ behaviours and provide engaging and motivating training
  • Maintain equipment, training venues and training aids to ensure they are serviceable, clean, tidy, and safe for operation
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in industry regulations, best practices, and training methodologies
  • Travel may be required to deliver training offsite or at our regional locations
  • Perform other general duties as required

Essential criteria

  • Relevant vocational qualifications in Trucks, EWP, and Forklifts, with recent industry experience
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities to coordinate training schedules and assessments
  • A passion for training and a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
  • Current Police Check and Working With Children’s registration
  • Hold current VicRoads Trainer/ Assessor credentials for HC (or have the ability to obtain these)
  • Ideally, hold WorkSafe Individual Assessor credentials for all high-risk work categories (LF and WP)

Renumeration

$80,000 – $100,000 plus super
