In this manual handling course you will learn the skills needed to assess risks associated with relocating a load, planning the relocation process, carrying out the relocation in accordance with the plan. Participants will be trained how to safely move materials manually and/or use simple handling equipment to do so. This manual handling training is designed to ensure all participants know the theoretical safe manual handling techniques and that they are able to demonstrate safe lifting techniques for both heavy and light loads practically.

This manual handling course can be useful to be people in all types of industries, including construction, aged care, education, office work, health care and more. Unfortunately, improper manual handling incidents are some of the most common problem-causers when it comes to workplace injuries in Victoria. Many of these would be prevented if employees had been provided with safe manual handling training.

This course will teach you the skills to:

  • Assessing the risks associated with relocating a load
  • Planning the relocation process
  • Carrying out the relocation in accordance with the plan

Upon successful completion of this manual handling course though MultiSkills, participants will be able to assess potential dangers associated with relocating a load in a work environment, as well as how to plan and carry out relocations while minimising unsafe handling through several factors. This is a nationally accredited course and you will achieve a manual handling certificate.
